A Reflection: What I Have Learned About Slavery

Through this narrative I have learned of the potential slavery has to corrupt  of even the most innocent souls (the wife who tries teaching Douglass to read and then turns evil for example). I have learned of the thorough and deceitful methods psychologically that slaveholders used to control their slaves (Christmas break). Finally, I have learned of the sheer horrors of slavery that are often not discussed (daily whippings without necessary justifications etc. ).
