Collage Assignment 7/26

Reflective Tag:

This collage represents the different stages in my writing development. The first picture marks stage 1, which is the development of convincing ideas that have the potential of persuading the audience. This was developed in middle school. The second picture, the puzzle pieces, mark stage 2, which represents the structure and organization of these ideas so that they are understood by the audience. This was developed in high school. The third picture, the banana, represents stage 3, which is the tailoring of language to be appealing to the audience. This was learned in ERH 101. The fourth picture captures all three stages, and reflects a complete understanding of writing and rhetoric. The “nudge” is the idea, the “angle” is the motivation (appealing nature) provided by the rhetor, and the “friction” and “gravity” are the biases of the audience. The final picture represents my goal of being a military leader.

I feel like you could possibly use an image to represent the beginings before middle school such as one to represent elementary school or when you first began writing.

i think you have a very creative start to a good collage but i think adding a few more pictures would do you well.

I think the pictures are a good representation but I think if they were more personal they would better display your unique journey in reading and writing.

Very interesting pictures. You were very creative; I probably would not have been able to associate ideas like these with writing. I especially like the last picture.

I like that you detail your journey, starting in middle school, and reflect where it will take you. The use of the persuasion slide was a good image to use, and your explanation of it in the reflective tag was extremely useful. You could improve further by including a struggle, or struggles, you faced while making the transition.

I like the images that you chose and the way that they relate to your learning experience. I think you could divulge some more information about what experiences in your life made you choose these photos. What were some of your early ideas in school? How did you initially react to the structure of school, and more specifically writing? In what ways did you learn to tailor your voice to better suit your audience? How much do you feel you have left to learn about writing and reading?

make the collage more visually appealing not just a list of pictures.

He used great pictures that can be easily read and represented as to what he will be talking about in his paper. The only down side is that he needs to form the pictures a little better.

I really liked the picture you used of the persuasion slide. It was really creative and I probably would have never connected it with rhetoric analysis. The only thing I would point out is that I didn’t really see the relationship between some of you images (specifically the first one) with your explanation. I just thought you could have used a better image to depict this.

I like the way you explain the pictures but maybe go into more depth about how they represent each of the learning stages. Good idea just need more depth.
