This past summer, I traveled to Oxford University to study abroad for six weeks. The first day we had a tour of the Bodlein and the different Oxford colleges. We learned about the many different scholars and writers like CS Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkein, and Lewis Carrol who lived in or visited Oxford. Seeing the different elements that inspired their books and where they learned, wrote, and taught inspired me to learn more about them and explore their favorite places in Oxford. Some of the places I was able to visit were Magdalene College, the Botanical Gardens, Eagle and Child, and University Park. Studying in the Radcliffe Camera and Duke Humphreys library was also very inspiring. By simply being in the environment that great writers worked in, made me curious to learn more about their writing and the context surrounding it.
