About Me

My name is Jocelyn Anop and I am from Virginia Beach, Virginia. I come from a large family of three brothers and one sister.  In the picture farthest to the left is my little thirteen-year old brother Noah. Noah and I are standing next to our older brother Sidney, in the middle picture when we were at a wedding two summers ago. Also, the picture farthest to the right was a high point in my life when I graduated from the Health Sciences Academy in high school. My siblings mean the world to me. We laugh, fight and go through everything together and I do not know where I would be without them.

My favorite things to do is be outside playing a sport with friends and family or going to the beach to surf all day. I have lived in Virginia Beach my whole life and love the water. Fruit is the best food in my eyes by far; berries, watermelon, apples, oranges, and bananas are delicious. I went to Bayside High School for the Health Sciences Academy and played varsity field hockey, swim, soccer and cross country. I began playing soccer when I was three and started Beach FC travel soccer when I was eight years old. The love and desire to win and be competitive in everything I do runs in my blood.

As an incoming rat at Virginia Military Institute, I dream to become a doctor in the United States military. What inspires me to come to VMI is the reputation of honor, work ethic and success of cadets who have graduated from Virginia Military Institute. Also, the small respectful community not only within VMI but in Lexington is another reason I choose to come here. Virginia Military Institue is no ordinary college and it is the one I want to attend.
