Artifact 3 Reflection
REFLECTION ARTIFACT 3:
The summation of the different methods of transportation in India can be summarized by the term “unorganized”. Like so many centuries of political fragmentation and disunity, the means by which the people of India move their goods and themselves seems to be chaotic and under no control by any particular government entity. The traditions of Hinduism and the life style of finding one’s own way in life certainly manifest themselves in the crowded roadways of India where cars, trucks, busses, and motorcycles do as they please in terms of direction and speed. All this translates into an extension of the question of what it means to be Indian. Following this research, I am able to make the further assertion that being an Indian means that the demands of life and the obligations people have to uphold themselves and the livelihoods of their families dictate how individuals travel. Everyone does things differently, and in that commonality, they are united in a shared experience.
