Web surfing and checking social media is bad for college students because it takes away from studying time. One examples of this problem is during exams this past winter. I was two days into studying for my math test and an ad popped up for a sale on Skyrim. I spent the next two days playing my new game, settling for the low B instead of the A in my class.
With the World’s knowledge at our finger tips, you would think grades and studying would become easier but there is a double edged sword to this capability. Instead of using this power for good, we all know that all we use the web for now is to check statuses and social media. We take pleasure in the moment without thinking of the consequences that will affect us later on.
