In a recent documentary we watched in class we observed a mayor as he attempted to revive his city through the removal of unlicensed homes and the revival of culture. He wanted to consolidate the city and bring everything into this wall he was building around the city. Most housing outside the wall was unlicensed because it had been built by individuals who had not bothered to license the house properly. The mayor moved the individuals whose houses were destroyed into new apartments within the wall of the city, but of course there were mistakes where people were not assigned housing. There were many scenes where citizens were seen complaining to their mayor and him trying to work out their problems. This wall was part of the cultural revival of the city along with the construction of a multitude of museums to display new and old art. Throughout the documentary the recurring theme is that the mayor works tirelessly for his people. He does not do all the things he does so he can live comfortably. Instead he works a lot and sleeps little. Unfortunately, towards the end of the documentary he is moved to another city and is never able to complete the project he started.
