Howdy! I am Alexander Warr. I chose this photo because it is taken in Palanga, Lithuania. I spent my Spring Semester abroad on a military exchange in the country. I learned how to meet and relate to different people from different walks of life from many different countries. The five months I spent studying and training in the Baltic country helped me develop my leadership skills through learning how to live with others who don’t commonly speak English and find commonalities.
I am currently a Cadet at the Virginia Military Institute and on track to commission into the Army in 2024, Majoring in International Studies and Political Science. During the summers I am also a lifeguard/pool manager at a local waterpark near my home in Memphis, Tennessee. (!). I plan on commissioning into the US Army as an officer either Infantry or Transportation or Logistics. (#). In life I want to be known as a kind, strong, loyal person that is incredibly resilient in tough situations. I figured some time in the Army will help me with that. (%) Some notable fun facts include that I am an Eagle Scout, an avid fan of Rock and Roll music, and I have run a marathon (2020). I also love to hunt and fish when I can ($).
This picture of the medieval knight speaks to me most about leadership because it demonstrates loyalty and devotion to something higher than himself. I knight will lay his life down for the common good. That speaks leadership in volumes.
