About Me

I am a sophomore at the Virginia Military Institute majoring in biology. I hope to receive a Bachelor’s of science degree in biology with a concentration in cellular/molecular biology upon graduation. I am currently taking genetics which has been the spark for my interest in the function of the human body at the cellular level. I am a member of the Air Force ROTC program at VMI and plan on commissioning with the Air Force upon graduation. My areas of interest in the United States Air Force include commissioning as a combat systems operator, fighter pilot, or air battle manager. I’ve always been the type of person that enjoys a challenge and all of these career fields will be challenging yet rewarding. Both of my parents are retired military, so I’ve never been able to see myself doing anything other than serving my country when the time comes. However, I chose to get my degree first so I would have more opportunities to lead as an officer in the Air Force instead of enlisting in the Air Force after high school. Being a part of the Air Force also gives me the opportunity to travel the world. I am also a member of VMI’s track and field team. My main event is the javelin. Track has been one of my biggest passions since high school and my goal is to hopefully break VMI’s javelin record before I graduate. It has kept me in great shape along with my physical training done with Air Force ROTC. To sum myself up, I am a passionate VMI student-athlete with a dream of commissioning in the Air Force and following in my parents footsteps of serving my country.
