The Southern Virginia University business page on their website sticks mostly to conventional business writing. At one point it says, “So whats the secret?”, as an attempt to be more personal with the reader and that was the only subversion of convention I found. Deviating a little from the convention I think the writer was trying to sound more friendly and to appeal to the reader and maybe make the university sound more attractive and personable. The website mainly uses the conventional formats and standard English associated with proper business writing.
