- Data Collection:
- Recording data for Glenn Branch
- I was able to acquire the images for the entire Glenn Branch slides however, I only obtain the area of the xylem for three samples: F3FG, F9FG, F13FG I tried to run the images through ImageJ stitching plugin however the images were too large and I ran out of memory and was not able to stitch them. I sent them to Dr. Weiss to see if he was able to stitch the images
- I ran the measurements for the Glenn Branches by using Dr. Weiss’s macro. It gave me the measurements of the xylem, but not the total stem area. By using the binary function, I set the image to binary and used the analyze particles which gave me the area of the stem. Then I would just divide the xylem area by the stem area to get the percentage of xylem.
- Since Olivia wasn’t here today I had the microscope all to myself. I was able to acquire three images with FH branch and I finished the FV branches in about four hours (five slides total).
