Abstract on Moral Education
Abstract:
Moral education is a hot bed topic in the schoolroom of today, leading to debates of issues in the public school system. The topic of my essay is how moral education should be implemented into the school systems with the benefits of the students in mind. The evidence in this essay demonstrates the possible outcomes on how moral education can expand the minds of the students, through developing the mindset of the students to think outside the box. All statistical data was obtained from educational databases across the US, focusing on the implications of moral education in the school system. The evidence that was used throughout the essay demonstrates how moral education has been studied, through the assimilation of a moral education program in many public schools. The data heavily supports that moral education has a greater impact on the lives of students than only the Common Core programs. The research explains the values that moral education will bring to the table, such as augmenting the students’ learning styles, confidence levels, as well as developing moral and ethical views on topics that the students would otherwise be left to their own devices with. Based on the statistical data, I drew the conclusion that that moral education is a huge benefit to the students and their developing of knowledge, and expanding views to further the moral growth after education. There are many roadblocks to the implementation of moral education in public schools, such as the inclusion of religious values in a public setting, or that the development of an attitude of questioning what the student is told could lead to the questioning of authority. This shows us, however, that students are beginning to take the lessons they are taught out of the classrooms, developing moral and ethical views on a certain situations or topics they would otherwise have an apathetic attitude towards. Overall, this essay generates on why moral education is beneficial to the student in expanding the views to the students in the real world.
