After having two classes thus far, my initial apprehensions regarding IS 301 is that I struggle with technology.  For example, it took me a while to figure out how to download the initial software.  However, I am looking forward to seeing everything the program is capable of doing and I am excited to do quantitative research as it is a change of pace from my thesis topic.  My other apprehension is working in a large group.  I work well in groups, however I fear that when groups get too big it becomes hard to coordinate among members.  Therefore, I am hoping that when the group project comes our group is able to divide up the workload well and avoid the “free-rider” problem.  This being said, I am looking forward to the group project and choosing an interesting topic.  One of my favorite things I have done at VMI is a research project for “Politics in Latin America” that researched economic growth and political satisfaction.  Therefore, I am excited to do a similar project in my last semester here with more advanced technology.
