I know that the papers that we read were much better mine because didn’t understand them. This is because they were so well put together and written and the structure of each paper flowed well and each part of the essay was explained and because they were at such a higher level of writing than my own that I also could not understand the intellectual prowess put into each of the papers. Each of them were able to get their messages across and they used Swales criteria for a discourse community and talk about lexicon in each of the papers. They actually understood each of the resources used to help further the purpose and are able to create paragraphs talking about each. For me I ended up all over the place trying to fully understand the definitions of each of the resources that we were using to back up our ideas. I thought that I was doing as well as these people and that I understood what was going on after reading over each of the readings and trying to understand each, but as it turns out, I understood none of it.
