To Whom It May Concern:

Interacting with Spanish speakers may seem intimidating due to speed and actions, however there are tips to the interactions that you may have in the future.

For the entirety of this semester I have focused on communicating and interacting with individuals in other Spanish speaking countries, researching tips for interacting with the language and culture. These tips can be displayed through articles, or rather assignments I completed throughout the semester which can show the importance of interpreting information that has to deal with travel, understanding the basic purpose of commercials, ways to learn culture and language with less stress, important interactions to keep in mind, as well and marketing differences between countries.

Understanding the important traveling aspects in other countries is important because there are different kinds of information and rules that are needed in Spanish speaking countries such as filling out a home address on a hotel reservation or how to communicate issues with you room such as not having hot water in the shower. These are important skills that can easily be learned to ease the travel to another country. Listening to commercials from other countries can also help to understand the culture that is presented in said country though listening and watching carefully and possibly finding an equivalent in English to help identify the differences.

Practicing real time conversation with another person is important because it forces you to use the language and showing any kind if effort is important when working with people from Spanish speaking countries because many countries believe Americans to be snobby and expect everyone to conform for them and to show that effort will help to ease the interactions with the other individuals. Researching customs and curtsies for whichever country you decide to visit is vital because you don’t want to make the wrong impression the first time you meet. Through this there are videos online that go through specific countries such as I did with Puerto Rico, and every country has its own quirks to figure out. Another way to understand a culture that you don’t know is to attempt to immerse yourself in the language and observe. The industries in other countries are also important to note and to understand the way they value products. Looking at companies such as Nike, Oreos, and McDonalds, there is a lot that you can learn about how the countries interact with the industries from their websites and advertisements. The colors of the packaging, the sizes, and the number of products offered different between the different countries and the United States which identifies key differences from what you know to be true and how other countries interact with products.

These activities that were explained above can help anyone, including myself, learn more about the business interactions and courtesies when traveling to another country and help to make interactions comprehensible with and individual from another country. This should help to make all situations productive and hopefully successful when operating in the business world abroad.

Very Respectfully,
