Hello world! My name is Thane Rolston, and I am a Rat. Hopefully one day, I will no longer be one. One day I want to graduate from the Virginia Military Institute with a degree in Economics and Business, with a concentration in Global Management and a minor in International Studies. Once all of that happens, I want to commission into the U.S. Army as a Armor Officer (the guys with the tanks). One day, I will settle down and start a business doing something that I love.
Outside of VMI, I fill my free time with golfing, being with my family, and playing with my dog. I have been a golfer for as long as I can remember. To me there is just something that feels right when I am looking down a 400 yard fairway or taking a shot put for birdie. My family and I do normal family things at our home in Leesburg, Virginia, but I always go and spend a few weeks at the grandparent’s farm in Advance, Indiana. My best friend is Hyde, a Lab Hound mix I rescued in middle school. The hardest part about VMI is not going on runs with him, or playing his little game of “Chase me around the neighborhood”.
