Research Essay: Blurred Lines of Suicide in Hamlet

This essay the most entertaining to write in the course. This paper allowed me to explore deeper into the play of Hamlet and the many deaths that took place. It occurred to me that Shakespeare speaks about suicide a lot through his characters and it seemed he only had one short, off-stage self-inflicted death. As I looked closer into the script and the causes of each death in the play, I found that many raise questions about suicide. After this realization I made connections to early modern cultural context and was able to apply the differing and conflicting views to Hamlet and show how the play may raise questions about these blurred lines in the definition. Research Essay- Suicide Final
