Monday, October 17th~ Ever wonder about the history of Promaji? Or the history of VMI? Or just general information about Post? Located on the 400 level of Preston Library, the VMI Archives preserves and stores the historical treasures of our school. Free to all, this place has the secrets of Post, the true minutes of club meetings, and enough diagrams, pictures, and documents to justify the realness of VMI. Promaji Club, although small, is not discounted. Thanks to our founding fathers of Promaji, records of proposals for change, club orders, and photos have been kept aside to help future generations…including ours. Their collective work has changed the present VMI and has impacted the bigger picture in the area through community engagement. By remolding the club, it seems like it is important to look at the past and truly understand the power Promaji had as one unit (as far back as the 1970s), and be inspired over the continued power we have to influence our world and the world around us. Next step: keep fueling the file. It’s our turn to create memories for Promaji.
The VMI Archives is open Monday-Friday, 0800-1630. (http://www.vmi.edu/archives/)
