A main theme emerging that is relevant to Ancient Greek culture would be the Sophits and their impact through education. As education was divided into those studies that provided moral strength to the soul, mainly music and literature. The sophists proudly advertised their abilities to teach a young man in the proper care of his personal affairs, so that he may best manage his own household, and also of the states affairs happening. Higher education sharpened their intellectual ways as sophists were known for their extravengent ways of language. Sophists were given a name derived from the Greek word Sophos meaning wise or sharp. This particular theme will be interesting for me to investigate in my research for my paper assignment for the Sophists. Being able to look in to Dissoi Logoi and the Greek notion of Kairos. Kairos is closely related to the ideas of Dissoi and the sophists teaching methods.

The teachings of the sophists were of civil services and contingent truths instead of religion. They were teachers of the art of verbal persuasion. They were for teachings to mark a “natural leader.”
