Why do you think natural talent was such an important consideration during this period?

The idea of natural talent was important in this time period due to the thought of how white athenian makers were the elite class that feared the middle class. They also had the idea that white men had the natural talent it took to be a great orator which the middle class and lower just did not have. It is seen that there was a belief that people in this period were naturally able to e good writers, orators, and scientist and were ultimately able to become better successors. Everyone could become educated just more people had natural talent to become the great successors of the time period and carry the pack.

Why do you think that today we find discussions of natural talent in sports but not education?

I think it is easier to see the natural talent of a sports player just due to the media and how it is displayed in every sport every night. With news casters covering different sports and different players the natural born talent of athletes is seen more often than in a student. Playing sports growing up you can see how different kids even when at a young age are just born talented at the sport they play while others have to work everyday to reach the maximum potential. As a student everyone can become smarter due to the amount of tim put into studies and it is not seen as a natural talent as much since it isn’t displayed like an athlete. As a student you can obviously also be natural talented as school may come easier to you as than others but it isn’t displayed the ways athletes talent is.
