In the Tethered Generation the author writes about the millennials and our need for technology. She states that since we are a growing age in the business world that our reliance on technology will inhibit our ability to performance in the work place. I disagree. While always being “connected” may seem like a waste of time that should be spent on our jobs, the other side of the spectrum is not looked at. Since we have grown up with all of this technology that the past generations were deprived of. Wouldn’t you think that the world has changed in some ways? It has become a world of technology. Technology that we, the millennials, have grown up with is now what the majority of businesses are based around. So the credibility of this author is not there at all. Millennials are not going to an ongoing problem in the business world. Our knowledge and understanding of current technology is going to be exactly what the world needs. Sure we may spend a little extra time on our phones, staying connected, but that is exactly what we need to do, stay up to date on current stuff. No one spends 100% of their business day working. They need time to goof off and the millennials just goof off on their smart phones.
