This illustration is taken directly from the novel used in this course. It shows Victor, the main character, run away from the creature. More so, the illustration demonstrates the complex makeup of the creature. Contrary to contemporary versions of the novel, the creature is rather normal in appearance and his intellect is shown through the open book by his side.
