The capstone, as a whole, was an incredibly enlightening experience that synthesized my learning and brought to light aspects of my academic career that were not formerly known. Perhaps most notably, the capstone allowed me to genuinely contribute to the scholarly conversation in a unique and incredible way. I theorized that political polarization is not merely an unintended effect of campaign rhetoric, but, instead, is the rhetorical purpose of the ads. Furthermore, the project exposed elements of my personal writing process that I have learned during my career as an English major.
