This open letter is meant for a non-academic, VMI audience. Therefore, I closely analyzed my audience and wrote in a manner that pertains to their level of education and understanding of VMI and it’s mission. Furthermore, since this was a persuasive piece, I created exigence and urgency that, again, was designed with the audience in mind.
