Describe cultural/ social factors that contribute to the appearance of plagues in history.

There are a lot of historical and societal factors that play key roles in the appearance of plagues throughout history. Effects of social/cultural changes on infectious diseases have been observed in populations. Plagues were first brought up due to the domestication and spread of humans. Hand and hand humans and animals lived together. This brought about many problems for both species. Humans and animals lived together shared the same water supply Squalid conditions of villages offered a paradise for rats, mice, ticks, flies, and mosquitoes. Also factors like deterioration of human diet due to concentration on growing and eating a single crop which holds lack of nutrients can arise to the effect of plague being seen.
Due to the domestication of animals it allowed for humans to interact with pathogens that there bodies were not use to leading to be infected and show traits of diseases. The black death is a huge example of this. The black was known as the world’s most deadly disease as it killed millions of people. It’s the biggest pandemic  that has ever occured in history

What are the effects of current technologies and human effect on health, specifically infectious diseases?

Due to the growing population the human effect on health is increasing. The use of technologies like the x-ray and vaccines and insulin and stronger things allowed doctors and people to understand what was going on for them. The three main outbreaks discussed in this chapter were SARS , Nipah virus or Malaria. The creation of milk being pasteurized insecticides and immunization help protected against  infectious diseases. All these diseases were transmitted from human to human contact, or sometime of contact with an animal. Eating dead animal carcass usually were the transmission of how humans collected theses disease. Even pollutants in the air were a factor for getting disease. The world is evolving and due to contact with animals humans contracted diseases as seen in chapter 1. Typhoid mary was a carrier of the typhoid disease ad she showed no symptoms. After a series of  unwanted test she was transmitting disease by touching food even though she was cleaning her hands and doing the proper things to not contaminate food. After a series of in wanted test

Globalization of the world and climate played a huge role in the mobilization of infectious disease. Due to humans and animals ability to be mobile this allowed disease to travel from one are to another. Some don’t realize but climate has to do with alot of how a disease forms. Certain disease are more prevalent in distant parts of the world. They rely on factors like high temperatures and even some cases low temperatures. Diseases are usually strong or common in a particular area or region  and the better you realize that you should avoid those regions with infectious diseases.
