Class Work March 15

William Hayley in his passage speaks of Old Maids and Widows. These Old Maids are “impatient and unskillful” while widows are “experienced and skillful angler.” Because widows are so experienced with marriage they know how to run the houses and are in no hurry to marry  again, just yet. Old Maids on the other are desperate to marry. He suggests that it is better to marry an Old Maid because they will love you and because they are desperate for a husband.

Henry Austen writes about his deceased sister in his passage. He praises her writing and her devotion to God and gives what I am assuming a very  accurate biography of Jane.

Richard Whatley in his passage writes about the characters in Jane Austen’s novels. He says that many of her characters that she created are so well known and remembered because the way she develops her characters.

I would most likely use William Hayley’s writing because he speaks of widows, old maids, and marriage.
