Update 5/27/2016
After testing and confirming the accuracy of Madden season simulations, I am in the process of creating a “control” set of statistics that will eventually be compared to with those of a replacement player. I will be collecting data over 10 season simulations for all 32 starting quarterbacks and running backs, along with the amount of wins each team earns during the regular season.
Traditionally, WAR values for defensive players is considered more difficult to evaluate that offensive players. In an attempt to mathematically quantify the value of select defensive positions, I will also be collecting data from 30 total defensive players: 10 Left Tackles, 10 Linebackers, and 10 Cornerbacks.
This period of simulations is expected to last for a couple of days; more updates will follow after these tests have been conducted.
