Although my definition of rhetoric mostly keeps its original ideals, through learning more about forms of rhetoric and how it has evolved, my definition has evolved as well. Rhetoric isn’t as simply a style or way with words, but a tool, a kind of multi-tool, which can aid the user in any social encounter towards the intentions of what the user seeks to gain from the conversation. However, just like a tool, it is useless without proper knowledge on the subject one is talking about, and useless without proper use of the tool itself.
