This essay was my first chance to look at Jack Kerouac’s On The Road and see what makes the writing and style truly unique to the Beat Generation. I found this writing style to be simple to read because it feels as if Kerouac is having a conversation with me, and telling me stories. I certainly feel as if I can relate to the Beat Generation’s writing style because I know that I can also be ver conversational in my tone when it comes to writing assignments. Looking at a certain paragraph or section was also very nice to because it allowed me to look at the real intricacies of On The Road and also look at how writing and style defined the Beat Generation. Overall, I feel as if this essay has given me a good start in my future of this class because I now have a basic understanding of what makes the Beat Generation so unique.
