1. Yes, the daily show and the Colbert Report both air everyday and talk about recent events. Although they man be sided a bit more with one party they are still reliable sources for up to date news.

It means to look deeper into the news or events and to be able to see it for it’s significance, what its about, and and how it actively effects people rather than just seeing it for what happened.  He makes his case by describing how the two shows use a broader approach to explaining their news and how this helps the viewers see multiple sides to the topics as well as not limiting the information they allow the viewers to hear. Directions for doubting paper.

1. Find and use good reliable sources.
2. inform the audience
3. Express multiple sides to the issue not just those that agree with me.
4. Examine all aspects of the issue.
5. Don’t be bias

When writing the doubting paper I hope to make a significant impact on the viewers understanding of the issue as well a my own, no matter what the outcome of opinions may be. To do this I plan to write my paper as open ended as possible. Whether or not I have a strong opinion to one side or another on the issue my plan is to explain the issue in the broadest way possible why still staying on topic. I want to explain my side and explain the counter arguments to my stance as clearly and fairly as possible. I hope to inform the audience and teach them parts to he issue at hand that they may have not known before and by doing this I should accomplish my goal allowing the audience to not see only my side but the full spectrum of the issue and to be able to better decide for themselves what the correct side to choose is, in hopes of convincing them to join my side but also allowing them to freely choose without one sided bias statements convincing them.
