Education is a way that future generations can be prepared for life and academia, with the hope of eventually surpassing those who instructed them. It can also be used as a development tool for those who may already be prepared academically. Universities and graduate-level schools provide opportunities for relatively well-educated individuals to specialize and hone in on the things that they want to make an occupation or a career out of.
Education is not limited to those in the academic world either. Education can be found in almost all facets of life, everywhere in the world. New events and opportunities in life often provide some form of chance for education opportunities. This often manifests in jobs where even more specialized training is offered through employees. It could also show through in anyone who is looking to pick up new talents, skills, or hobbies. Most of these things require some form of entry-level education in the subject matter.
Education also garner varied levels of respect based on the source of the education. College education tends to be thought more highly of. Self-teaching tends to be thought less highly of, though it’s rarely discouraged. I believe this is somewhat exemplified through the degree requirements most employers require. Besides being tangible proof of someone being competent in a skill area, it shows the level of respect higher education garners.
