This assignment was on measuring poverty through the absolute measure. I wrote this paper in my ERH 240 which was Poverty and Human Capability with my Professor being Dr. Richter. I learned what the absolute measure was and overall how we can measure poverty through it. This new knowledge fits within the context of other things I have already learned as an English major by providing a piece that I wrote to help me realize my own understanding of poverty and how it can be measured through the absolute measure. This assignment is meaningful to me because it essentially helped me to gain a better understanding of poverty itself and how it can be measured. This new knowledge makes me want to know more about the other way’s poverty can be measured.
