This assignment was for my Genre Studies: Fiction class. The assignment overall created in order for us to make our very own short story. From this assignment, I learned many things that were all for the most part focused on making my short story better. I learned to accept the constructive criticisms from my peers in a mature way that would allow me to take there critiques use them in a way that helped my paper. The knowledge that I have gained throughout my educational career has allowed me to re drafts some of my older pieces of work because I felt that they could even be revised even though we revised them in class many times. What I have learned from this assignment is significant and meaningful to me because this is my own piece of work is entire my own short story. This new knowledge that I know and understand now will help me in revising my past works but as well as having a better mindset and mindset when taking on other future assignments.
1) Does your story fit into a particular literary genre?
2) Why did you primarily choose to use emotional appeals in your story? Is there a underlying social or psychological message you can expound upon?

Sam,
If you’re considering this work as part of the capstone project (for the creative option), then try to answer some of these sorts of questions:
What revisions would you like to make to the story, and why?
How would you characterize the traditions/conventions of this work in order to write about it from a critical perspective?
How does this work represent a significant part of who you are (and the work you’ve done) as an EN major?

COL McDonald
