Journal Entry 3

I think that Steinberg chose this form to write the introduction to illustrate to the reader the power that an individual creator can have on its audience. The creator of Barbie is seen as God in this segment (obviously) and by showing that the maker of Barbie created these dolls in such a fashion puts an emphasis on the order in which he dolls were created. I honestly did not notice it at first until I went back after reading the prompt for this question, but after going back and re reading it in that way I realized the emphasis she was putting on the way that people worship barbies even on the first page. When comparing  Barbie to Adam you compare her to God’s first human creation and the perfection that He puts into every individual that he creates. This is illustrating the idea that the original Barbie is just as perfect as the original human being and this shows the reader even more the depiction of white privilege and superitoity.
