Perspectives from Followers
I think my followers perceive me as a person of few words. Some feedback that I have been given also gives me some insight in that I shall improve my confidence. In the Followership questionnaire, it is on a scale from 1-5 higher numbers indicating a better leader. My followers and I are similar in perception of leading b example, participative decision making, coaching, and showing concern. We are somewhat similar in perception about informing(i) These perception may be the same because they are close friends of mine and one of them is on the cadre team. They may be different for informing because sometimes communication is difficult and I don’t realize that I am bot communication information to others.

In the past year, I have made a positive impact on the people around me because I have a great relationship with the rats from last year. Most of them are my close friends and I hope that they have learned a lot from my experience and how I try to lead. From the survey, leading by example is my best attribute and I hope to do so with the rats. This is a skill that I have worked on for the past year and I want to keep it for the future in the army.(j)

My perception of myself are similar to that of others in get on the balcony, regulating distress, and protecting the leadership voices from below. These perception may be the same because these are traits that I display on a daily basis. When I am working with rats, I often am dealing with distressed individuals and communicating with the chain of command. My perceptions about adaptive leadership are different in identifying adaptive challenges, maintained disciplined attention, and giving work back to the people. This is surprising because I ask for feedback very often. One trait that I would like to improve on is regulating distress. To do this I will get to know my followers and have an understanding of where they are coming from. There was an instance during the ratline where I made assumptions on why someone was behaving the way they were and I couldn’t have been more wrong. I will communicate with them to see what is going on
