Shah Jahan

The research process of the first artifact has caused me to realize several things. The most surprising is my complete lack of knowledge about Indian history. In America, the only other area of the world that receives very much attention at all is Europe. When asked to name a famous Indian, everybody would name Gandhi, but very few could name a single other. I couldn’t. Even the creator of the Taj Mahal, one of the man-made wonders of the world, remains almost completely unknown. How many other famous individuals, noteworthy events, and other knowledge are we missing out on? This paper has made me realize that as a whole, public history education is sorely lacking.
