I think nowadays people define experiences in different ways. They think of experiences as being a person who has traveled a lot and talked to different types of people. As an opposition I would say that it’s more than just traveling. You can have experiences in your where you are from without traveling. I feel like this a lot of what the citizens of the Appalachia region have done by being the best to make the best out of what they have. Also I feel like we see a different in the experience especially when it comes to interaction with other people. From what I’ve seen the people from this region are more tolerant and well-mannered than those outside of the region. I think that this has a lot to do with the environment that is surrounding you, Appalachia being more of a woods area. Though I’ve some interesting experiences being from Franklin County has created the most interesting experience. Usually you have disconnect and or development of stereotypes by people that are outside the region. For example those who are outside the region often times see those that are inside as uneducated hillbillies. I have experienced stereotypes through questions like “do you make moonshine?” from those which are in the region themselves.
