My name is Alexander Keys I am an undergraduate senior here at the Virginia Military Institute on track to graduate in December 2016. I have been an English major since the beginning of my junior year. So far I have taken courses that have improved my rhetorical skills and background like rhetorical traditions I and II. I have also learned the different literary traditions of British and American backgrounds through British and American Literary Traditions. I have also had an opportunity learn specifically about the Appalachian area and its rhetoric through my Appalachian Rhetoric. Lastly I have gained the skill to critically analyze artworks through my Language of Art and History of Art courses while being able to communicate technically through my technical communications courses. As I progress in my courses I hope to gain more knowledge in many more different areas. For my time here I have been competing on the NCAA football team. I am really interested in photography and art. I enjoy taking pictures, especially of nature. I successfully submitted my photography to the Cadence titled Untitled. I also enjoy writing and reciting poetry. This was sparked by my poetry class where I got the opportunity to recite a few of my poems at studio 11 in Lexington, Virginia. After graduation I plan to go into the sales field or go to business school so I can get my MBA and go into the marketing field.
