Reflection: This was the start of my RFID series of essays. I wish I was more specific in my mission of the proposal. For example, I should have been more specific about what the chips should not be used for. I think they are good for product tracking and organization, but I seem to condemn them no matter what, not just as an implant.

Topic Proposal

The proposed topic for my research essay is implantable RFID chips. I find this topic to be interesting in a disturbing way and think it is something that needs to be brought to public attention. The RFID chip implant has often been written off as science fiction and the idea of it being utilized and possibly abused by the government has been laughed off and labeled as a ridiculous conspiracy theory. I would like to investigate what is actually happening with these chips and what the designers and government officials plan to use them for. Initially, I am concerned with the chips being used to endanger constitutional freedoms and being used by the government to abuse the power they have over the American people.
