This assignment broadened the scope on which I looked at analyzing Paradise, a book that I found very hard to comprehend due to its seemingly illogical framing concept. The articles I researched, even the ones I did not use, put this novel in more historic terms, as I am a history major, making it easier to comprehend while explain the textual problems that I found in my own reading of the novel. It made me look at certain symbols in the book, such as the juxtaposition of the Oven to the Convent, in a new light and in a way that I did not think of on my own. All in all, it was a very helpful assignment in making a novel that I personally found very dry and incomprehensible easier to digest.
