2nd News from Pakistan

This article discusses the devastating effects that the flood has had on the Pakistani people and the infrastructure within the country itself. It goes into depth on how much damage has been truly done to the country. It discusses how 218,000 houses have been destroyed and that it will take 10 billion dollars in order for the country to recovery from the flood in its entirety. I am aware that Pakistan continues to have an ever present and difficult economic crisis on their hands to deal with. I wonder how much this natural disaster hurts their chances of turning around their countries fate and fixing the economic issues. I also wonder if maybe the issue itself will help to unite the country and in turn help the political parties to work more in unison. This working in unison would allow for legislation and decision to be made quicker and in turn help to have a more definitive plan to deal with the issues that are facing Pakistan within its very near future

Context. The struggle for power between the Former Prime minister Imran Khan and Current prime minister Shehbaz Shari. Khan is currently in the political running and has the popular vote behind him despite Shari attempting everything in his power to slow down his success.

Encryption. The former king is dethroned from his place of power by the Jester. When will this uneasiness cease? When will people’s lives stop being pulled apart by the dueling powers at hand. The Jester will not submit to the success of the former King. How will the Jester ever submit; the peasants will rise up and demand their rightful king to go back on his thrown. They will fight for the ruler that they believe in and not the ruler who is halting the natural and right transfer of power. The Jester tries all avenues of approach to stop the King from his assent to the throne, but will he succeed. No, he will not succeed the peasants will ensure this.

News from Pakistan

The article that I picked is an overview of every time a Pakistani general was faced with legal issues throughout Pakistan’s history. Within the article it covers from nearly the beginning of Pakistan’s founding in 1947 with the first legal case appearing in 1951 and the most recent the case in 2019. The most common reasons for legal trouble being forced upon these generals or former generals is being caught while attempting to organize an uprising or assassination.  The ones that do not follow this pattern of organizing a movement to overthrow the current government are the ones that I find the most interesting. The most recent case was in 2019 and it was about one general who had been convicted for leaking sensitive government information out into the public by publishing a book. I wonder if this is an example of a future that Pakistan might have where they are losing their grip on controlling the highest military officials? In addition, I wonder if this initial leaking of information could create a pattern among government officials of leaking out sensitive government secrets?

2nd Tweet from Pakistan

This is a tweet written in response to the Chinese hackers who had taken over the account of Pakistan consulate General Chengdu. The Chinese hackers in control proceeded to say, “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is thankful for Chinese aid and support for flood reconstruction. We will work closely on matters of mutual interests, including rights and freedom of Uighurs community,”. The Chinese have a history of repressing the rights and mistreating the Uighur community. This tweet was made as a protest to the actions of the Chinese government. I wonder how long this repression of the Uighur people has been occurring. I wonder what this repression is based off of and how it became a part of the actions of the Chinese government.

Tweet from Pakistan

This is a tweet written by Pakistani Senator Swati in response to the acquittal of Prime Minister Sharif and his son, who was the former Chief Minister of Punjab. The Prime minister and his son were accused of money laundering 200 million dollars. Once Senator Swati posted this tweet, directed towards a General Bajwa he was quickly arrested. I am surprised that such a small and harmless action can cause such a drastic response. If a state official is upset enough to publicly criticize the actions of a fellow government official, how common are acts of corruption within the government of Pakistan. I also wonder if his action of speaking out inspired any others to follow him and speak out against the regime.
