News #2

This News article I would talk about is “Congress says ‘BJP’s politics of hate responsible for Maniqur violence. This article talks about  The Congress Party have accused the BJP of promoting a “politics” that they claim is responsible for the recent incidents of the violence that happened in Maniqur. The Congress Party have been criticized the BJP for its divisive politics that have alleged the party for trying to polarize society for electoral gains. The Congress party has been demanding the BJP government take immediate action to restore peace and ensure people in Maniqur are safe. Recently, there have of clashes between different communities in Manipur, which resulted in the deaths of several people. The Congress party has accused the BJP of promoting divisive and inciting violence in the state. However, BJP has denied the accusations made by the Congress Party and has instead blamed the Congress Party for fomenting unrest in the state which they have accused the Congress Party of trying to create communal tension for political gain. The analysis I saw is the Congress Party’s accusations against the BJP of promoting divisive politics and inciting violence may be an attempt to gain a political advantage ahead of the upcoming state assembly elections in Manipur. I have also seen the accusations and counter-accusations made by the political parties in Manipur highlight the broader issue of divisive politics and have been used to identify politics in India which can lead to polarization and violence. This leads political parties in India to engage in heated accusations against their opponents in the lead-up to elections and the situation in Manipur is complex with multiple causes and factors. While reading this article, I think that the situation in Manipur is complex with the recent incidents of violence and the political tensions between the Congress Party and BJP which highlights the issue of divisive politics and the use of identity politics in India. I think it is important for political leaders to work towards finding common ground for the root causes of the violence in order to restore peace and ensure the safety of the people in Manipur. I also have questions like “Where is the evidence that supports the Congress Party’s accusing BJP of promoting “politics of hate” in Manipur, and where is the evidence to support BJP’s counter-accusation against the Congress Party?  How can the issue of divisive politics and the use of identified politics in India be effectively to addressed that can prevent polarization and violence?

Encryption: Government “singularly responsible” for India’s economic problems: Congress

Context: India’s economic growth has been declining with the saying of the government’s contention that the economic problems have been shown as a “smoke screen” and it is singularly responsible for the woes. Anshul Avtiji, Congress spokesperson has stated “Inflation remains high, unemployment is increasing and growth estimates are being revised downwards with each passing day,” which means that more people are losing their jobs and their production of economics have been going down every day. Anshul Avtiji also states that the BJP government has been blamed on the global economic crisis but Anshul says that the BJP government has been hiding this problem and trying to cover it so that they don’t get blamed for it and get criticized. With this low economic growth, India couldn’t create new jobs and have more businesses as economies are in crisis and can’t provide them with the funds that the people needed to live or survive which explains many jobs have been shutdowns and more people go unemployed that they are having the struggle to find a job in India.

Encryption: India BJP Government was one of the reasons why India was having a financial issue because India has not been not making great decisions on their finance and the government is trying to cover it up by making up an excuse so that people won’t blame them for their economic problems. India has been facing challenges like a slowdown in the economic growth rate have been going down in recent years, many businesses are starting to go down which leads to a lot of people going unemployed people are struggling to find jobs to support themselves or their families. BJP Government have demonetization in Big currency which can prevent corruption however this caused many small businesses to close and farmers not be able to have their farms due to a shortage of crops and money. They have also made the GST which is an Indian tax system they made to create a good market but it has backfired since many businesses are having trouble going along with GST and begin to have a slowdown in economic growth. They also didn’t really create new jobs and the BJP government doesn’t pay attention to job creation and wants to promote different things like entrepreneurship and manufacturing.

Can there be a solution to the economic problems that the BJP can figure out? Why can’t they offer more jobs or more opportunities to people in India? Will the BJP government be reelected after these problems they have in India?

Twitter #2 – East to West Yatra

The Congress is now considering continuing the march to East to West Yatra to keep the campaign’s momentum until the Lok Sabha election goes on next year. Their schedule is finalized in the next few weeks whether or not the march shall continue said General Secretary Jairam Ramesh.  With the success of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, the state units that are not covered by the foot march demand another to cover their states. Gandhi is expected to be the representative of the march and many leaders praised Gandhi for Bharat Jodo Yatra. Many leaders have believed to be changed in the political discourse of Congress which puts the party for 2024 Lok Sabha polls. Priyanka Gandhi has drawn the long line of congress ideology which everyone has seen the congress leader for what he is standing for fighting on the meaning of the ideology. I think it is very interesting to march a long way for a campaign momentum and there have been many plans to continue the march until next year’s election. I think that they should spread the campaign momentum on social media and try to gain support for their march down as they are marching and have vehicles to drive so that people won’t be so tired after marching for so long. How could the Marching help the Campaign’s momentum and gain support from other people? How long will the March continue until they stop for a checkpoint or Stop for good?  Will People continue to support the march if the march never ends?

Twitter #1 – Internet Shutdown in India

India leads the world –  This tweet talks about reducing internet access for the 5th year in a row – India has been having internet blackouts which have been to the top for the world record of the highest amount of internet blackouts in 2022. The Authorities have shut down the internet in India 187 times which made India a top country to have internet shutdowns every year which of the 47 internet shutdowns by the Indian-administered Kashmir due to political instability and political violence. Kashmir has said that the tension was the rivalry between India and Pakistan which controls particularly the internet shutdowns on which the government has regularly imposed restrictions on communication on security grounds to measure the suppressed dissent. But a digital researcher named Srinivas Kodali says that the Indian government affords to block the Indian-administered Kashmir and internet shutdowns can be a form of “economics blockade” which means it can block exports of a country. Srinivas Kodali also states “We have heard so many stories about how shutting down the internet in Kashmir takes away people’s rights from taking part in any trade and commerce online”. Srinivas Kodali thinks that internet shutdowns are a form of censorship and it hurts people very badly that people are being silenced which affects them economically. I think that the Indian government wants to prevent free speeches from the people and doesn’t want to hear bad things about the Indian government from their own people. There have been many protests, spreading news and many people can get injured or killed if they said words that government doesn’t like to hear or to be spread out in the news and by internet shutdowns can cause people’s internet would be non-functional and can’t access to social media or other apps. I wonder if their internet has been slowing down due to many internet shutdowns? Does India have a backup plan if the internet doesn’t get a connection back at all? How long does the Internet reboot after each Internet shutdown?

India Tweet: Civil Society bloc plans year-long nationwide mobilization against BJP

Dr. Vera Heuer

IS-339-01

This Tweet talks about a civil society group have come together to create a plan that is supposed to last a year-long movement to protest against the RSS-BJP combine for the upcoming election in 2024. The reason behind this protest was to bring people together and create an army of people for their campaign plan with the communications networks so that they can protest about the lack of jobs, land acquisition, and the poor economy. The ‘Abhiyan’ strategists said that the voluntary organization is most likely going to a proposed platform that can attract within 12 states over 4 months and can convince people who are not in the civil society that will join the protest. The Civil society and the political class have received an invitation for their political-minded to the national convention which included the congress that has devised their plans because civil society is creating strategies for grassroots mobilization and the civil society will train the volunteers for their campaign against the BJP. I think that what they are doing is great, the civil society is creating a plan to protest that can last a year and they have gathered many volunteers that can be trained so that they can be educated before they can protest against the BJP. However, I think they should spread it to different kinds of social media that can be seen throughout the world and tell people to spread the word around India so that more people can be informed and can be involved with the protest against the BJP. The leaders can make a great speech that should convince people about why they should join and make a social media post to spread the idea of civil society for the movement for the election that is coming up in 2024. What more plans did the civil society have in mind that can help them with their protest? What benefits can be provided to the volunteers to join the protest and how can they be trained for their campaign?
