The second tweet that I have chosen to discuss is actually a chain of three tweets from Pakistan’s Prime minister, Shehbaz Sharif. In these tweets, Sharif is addressing recent terrorist activities and that the government and himself are taking actions to combat the terrorist activities. In the last tweet of his chain, Sharif claims that media plays a fundamental role in the anti-terrorism campaign and that Pakistan will adopt a zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism. I believe that it would be good for the Pakistani government to combat media that supports violent terrorism that hurts their citizens and the state of Pakistan. I wonder however, could the Pakistani government use this campaign to encroach on internet and media rights of the people more than they already have and start limiting access altogether? Is it possible that the government could make vague laws that allow for them to easily censor, limit, and control media and the internet as a whole in Pakistan?
