George Hempt is an incoming Rat at the Virginia Military Institute. He grew up in the small town of New Cumberland in Pennsylvania, outside of the capital Harrisburg. George is attending VMI with his twin brother, Gerald, and following in the footsteps of older brother, Gregory (class of 2015). While at VMI, George attempts to pursue a major in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Math. George hopes to play on the club basketball and tennis teams at VMI with interest in the Cadet Investment Group.

George recently graduated from Trinity High School, a small Catholic high school in the town of Camp Hill. George was recently the senior class president, member of the wrestling team, and captain of the tennis team. George was also Bursar (treasurer) and founding member of the Trinity High School Squire Circle 5645. This Squire circle is sponsored by the local Knights of Colobus Chapter. Circle 5645 organizes fundraisers to raise money for local non-profit organizations such as St. Jude Children’s Hospital, sponsor local seminarians, as well as promote spiritual development within its members.  George is member of the National Honor Society and appreciates all of the support his parents has towards his education. This motivation as well as a possible career in the Army, has driven to the prestigious school known as VMI.

Now at VMI, George looks forward to the Rat Line, working hard in the Army ROTC, and excelling in his engineering classes. George looks forward to graduating and starting his own engineering business in the future.
