Natural Talent

During the classical period questions about natural talent appeared in several disscussions about teachings. Natural talent was such an important consideration during this period. This was based on two important reasonings. The first, when referring to natural talent, education was a primary factor in everyday life. The more educated you were the “higher up” you were percieved to be. As Isocrates would say, it maintains the elite system and only citizens have this natural ability. Second, education during this time was their livlyhood, everyday life, and entertainment. Today we find natural talent in referencing sports but not education. Why? This is merely based on the century and generation. We look to sports for our means of entertainment. In our society today we link the idea of having natural talent to sports because not eveyone can play that particular sport, and if so, not everyone can be good at it. Unlike education, anyone that knows how to read can pick up a textbook, study, and learn from it.
