Leadership Profile
As a leader I am somewhat rigid and over trusting in the system while undertreating in my personnel. I often assume things are the way they are because that is the most efficient way to do things or that there isn’t a better option. In reality, even if that was true, knowing the pitfalls of other plans in the systems to avoid them and pass on the information to whoever takes my position after me. My strengths are I am very good at logistics, and anything relating to optimization. If there is a plan to be made, I guarantee I can improve the logistics of it. My weaknesses are interpersonal conflict. When people challenge my authority and not my actions I do not know how to react beside keeping a level head. This is an issue I have had to deal with as Clerk on multiple occasions and can’t quite master as it often comes at the worst of times, and often catches me off guard.
After further development, I realize now that systems have to change to meet the needs of organizations over time. If organizations don’t adapt they die. Questioning authority is sometimes a good thing. Knowing when to air grievances is important, and one of the more subtle nuances I have learned. Improving my logistical skills has been vital to my success, as well as trouble shooting problems and owning mistakes.
Notable stats from each of my leadership surveys provides insight into my leadership style. For example in my big 5 personality survey, my extraversion is very high at 5.125, 2 standard deviations above the average. In my emotional intelligence survey, all my scores are average or slightly above average. This means my emotional intelligence is compatible with most people. In the followership questionnaire, my Independent Thinking Score is 47 and Active Engagement Score is 48, putting me in the exemplary follower category. In my adaptability questionnaire, the most notable score is my adaptability is a 22, meaning it is low. This is likely due to my leadership experience being very structured.
