Does owning either an Apple or Android phone come with generalizations on how males from ages 18-22 view the other platform?
Interview
If you were to interview someone, what information do you want, and why? to answer your research question?
I want to know how each person views the other platform and why..
I want to know how they got this view, so I want to pick at the origins of this person’s thoughts..
I want to know how likely/unlikely they would be to switching to the other platform and why..
I want to know their history with the phone brand they have now, and if they have enjoyed it..
What is your view on the other platform and why?
What is your history with your platform? Explain in as much detail as needed.
Observation
If you were to do an observation, what info do you need from it and why?
I would have to view live interactions with Apple and Android users
My venue would have to be somewhere public, with the conversation about these two phones initiated. I would have to lurk in a reddit thread for more info
Survey
If you were to do a survey, what info would you need to answer this question and why?
I would need to see respondants’ views about the other platform, and if there are any reoccurring patterns and stereotypes that come about.
“What brand do you own?” 1) Apple 2) Android, this starts the divide on the survey, begins the category divide.
As of now, I think that conducting interviews with people that I choose will allow for the best information to be conducted. I can ask open ended questions that get the most information out of the situation, with different perspectives.
