Think about your own background (cultural, religious, regional, etc.) and community contexts. How do you think these contexts have affected your attitudes toward literacy?

I think my community context has helped me have a better attitude towards literacy, mainly because of the high school I went to. My high school English department was full of very liberal teachers, especially one of them, who ended up being my teacher. He helped me find my like for writing. I was never very into writing before that class, but all we talked about were ideas and interpretation of ideas, such as being a non-conformist. And I could write for days about what I thought and I always got good feedback. Usually my ideas are never listened to or acknowledged as being intelligent but he helped me realize I do have good insight. And ever since then I have been chasing that dopamine I used to get when I would listen to lectures in that class and write about my ideas.
