Rhetoric is the way in which you communicate to an audience through writing to get an idea across. I learned this definition from listening to the context in which this word is used. I usually hear the word refer to in textual situations and having to do with the structure of the text its self.
After reading I have concluded that rhetoric is the way you communicate one on one with someone else to get an idea across. The idea doesn’t need to be fact it just has to be agreed upon in the rhetorical situation. The keys of having effective rhetoric is to have effective material, ordering the material in the most effective way to get the point across, structuring your language in an effective way, having educated ideas, and speaking with clarity and decisiveness.
