Work for the group project was divided up into two disease per person. My diseases are as follow:
Heart disease: Heart disease is one of the few diseases that men and women both get but experience differently. These differences include things like the age that women and men usually get heart disease, the treatment that men and women receive when they do suffer from a heart attack, and lastly, the percentage of men and women that die from their first heart attacks. For example, “women ages 45 and younger are more likely to die within the first year of their first heart attack” and furthermore, women are less likely to receive defibrillator help when being treated for a heart attack. Stroke: Like heart disease, women and men have different experiences when being treated for strokes. These differences seem to be limited to sex. For example, men “up to age 80” of are more likely than women to suffer from strokes but this number gets higher for women as they get older. Furthermore, deaths from strokes are more common in women than in men.
